This is so petty of me...i noticed on instagram she has gone very blonde. She jokes about it and i totally get it on one hand...on the other hand, i guess its my little fantasy that she is a more reflective, mature person who when she says we are on retreat means...a time of inner contemplation maybe about deeper things and not not worrying so much about, I don't know...your hair  but furthermore she then felt compelled to post about the new hair. I always want to idealize these speakers or writers but things like this suggest some of them are very young.I really did not want to believe it. Yes, my problem I know.
She’s 46, not exactly super young. I don’t think you’re petty. I think it’s more of a need for her to put herself on display a bit. Let’s face it, she’s made a decent living as an influencer and author. I mean it’s quite the phenomenon to be able to utilize digital media and parlay that into several successful book deals, speaking engagements, reality tv shows, etc. I mean, she’s a hell of a marketer and she has to stay in front of, and remain relevant to, those who follow her. They’re the ones who fund her through book purchase and going to her speaking events. Unfortunately, perhaps this life on display has had serious consequences. Who knows?
That's very thoughtful, yes i imagine the glaring spotlight grants both some much needed validation, support and admiration from fans while also a degree of discomfort and lack of control, fears of being shamed by your critics. In those times all you can do is control what you can and my expectation she would do what a typical person might...e.g. lay low, is unrealistic. It's not who she is. And her livelihood is closely tied to her public persona.
