Of course rich do things like this, but that's not what Gaetz claimed. And Gaetz didn't claim this was some "Big Brother, Big Sister" I see the kid sometimes on the weekend sort of thing and I let him borrow my car for prom, either. He said he's basically this teen's dad, raising him for 8 years. If it's really just Matt's filthy rich parents being charitable, fine. But that's not in any way how Gaetz characterized the relationship.

Is it true this kid is good at sports? Maybe they were hoping he'd be a soccer or baseball prodigy, a recruited ace at the local high school or college the Gaetz funneled him to? I've seen that too.
