McLean https://www.instagram.com/mhs_commitment_day2020/
Impressive placement at top colleges. Even better than past couple of years. Well done! Congrats!
Giving Potomac a run for its $$$$
McLean HS this year ran wild! Just from the small number of students self reported, there are already 10 ivies+Stanford, and a dozen other top schools like Chicago, Duke, Northwestern, JHU, etc. I heard at least one for Yale, but not in this self reported list. Guess they said McLean is a top school in NoVA for a reason. Congratulations to all!
That's interesting. Why does McLean have more Ivy and top school admissions than Langley? They can probably compete with Whitman, B-CC and many of the well-known privates.
I wouldn’t make assumptions like that based on this self-reported sample. I know several Ivy and top tier admits at our HS that didn’t post on Instagram yet. I’m sure it’s the same with these schools.
Are we talking about admissions or attendance? My kid was admitted to three Ivy, but going to UVA :) And no, we don't post on social media.
Make up a story like that to make yourself feel better on an anonymous forum? Applied to many ivies in order to turn them down? You think ivies are that easy to take you? LOL
No, I dont' think it was easy, because I went through the application process with her (no. tutors). She was waitlisted to Yale, got the offer later, got accepted to two others, Cornell and UPenn (offered some grant for the first year), but was rejected by her dream school, Stanford. UVA offered the last minute a full four year scholarship, so she decided to save money for master degree in Stanford. She also was accepted to three service academies, which is also not easy to get into.
That's extremely impressive. Did she get the Jefferson Scholarship at UVA? It's the only one that is a full four-year scholarship. My DC competed for it but didn't get it.
