1.  The road was being repaved anyway, the added costs for the bikes lanes was small

2.  Most of the cost of the reconfiguration was for the pedestrian refuge islands. Which are for pedestrians.

3.  I am not convinced that the main issue with Alexandria schools is money.  Anyway, the Council under the Mayor's leadership (and against opposition from some of the same people who opposed the road reconfiguration, I believe) has increased funding for the schools

4. The Council under the Mayors leadership is addressing a wide range of infra issues.  Finally dealing with the combined sewer outflows.  Tripling the repaving budget.   Finally addressing our aging City Hall. [/quote]
