Will the FCV haters just acknowledge why they hate FCV. As an impartial bystander, all I can say is that FCV is an elite club with teams that can compete at the national level. The only club that can say the same is Pipeline/Armour. FCV and Pipeline have a Teams that complete in the DA and B teams that compete in the top tournaments and in state/regional/national cup competitions. McLean is competitive at ECNL but the non-ECNL teams are not super competitive.
Hopefully ECNL realizes this and is not planning to expand ECNL 2 to NOVA ECNL teams in a year.
LOL. Now why would they do that when it wouldn’t help the bottom line?? You have been watching their moves over the past year, haven’t you? $$$$$All in$$$$!
When your done LOL'ing, maybe you should comment on DA2.
Not the $$ poster. DA2 or DPL or whatever you want to call it makes sense for some teams. In an ideal world ECNL and DA would merge but this is unlikely to happen. DA has announced two initiatives for next year. 1) The tiering of DA teams (Tier 1/Tier 2.): This makes sense so that teams will play teams of more equal ability. This does not immediately fix the problem of a weak club with a strong team in one age group or a strong club with a weak team in one age group. Players should be allowed to move more freely from club to club. 2) DPL (DA2): This is apparently being rolled out by a select group of top teams. This provides a place to put the second (former ECNL) teams of teams that are deep enough to have two strong teams. The problem with this plan currently is the distance between DPL clubs at least on the East Coast. These teams should be allowed to compete against Tier 2 DA teams. Players on DPL teams are not restricted from playing high school soccer. This should arguably be allowed on Tier 2 teams as well. I suspect DPL play for East Coast teams will be limited to a couple of DPL showcase/tournaments and they will continue to play in other leagues/tournaments. Ironically a couple of local DA clubs and their partners are also fielding ECNL regional teams next year as well.
