They've been close friends since George was born. Kate showed up at Houghton Hall's (Rose's estate) horse trials for THREE years with her kids. She couldn't even be bothered to attend Ascot for that many times in her first six years of marriage. That's in addition to co-hosting a gala with the Cholmondeley's which the Cambridge's have never done for or with anyone else.

Yeah, no. Rose was happy being Kate's bosom buddy but William found out about Rose's wild side (her 20s were a lot more scandalous than Kate) and figured he could get some hot sex out of it.

When Kate learned what he'd done she abruptly cut off Rose cold-turkey and then tried to order the rest of the aristos to do the same. The problem was and remains hat Rose is both richer and more blue blooded than Kate is and William isn't playing ball either.

Considering that Philip's longest and most serious lover is her own first cousin (and his), Princess Alexandra, banishment would be a bigger scandal than the affair. Kate demanding William "phase Rose out" was always going to backfire. Rose knows the aristo game, Kate does not.[/quote]
