Every once in a while they will go to a showcase and compete against ECNL teams, but other than that there’s no co-mingling. It’s part of their “meaningful competition” marketing approach. ECNL is more open to playing in big tourneys like Jeff Cup and can technically compete in open state cups, but they don’t. It’s a shame as kids get tired of playing the same teams again and again.
