The predominance of human biological research confirms that human life begins at conception—fertilization. At fertilization, the human being emerges as a whole, genetically distinct, individuated zygotic living human organism, a member of the species Homo sapiens, needing only the proper environment in order to grow and develop.
Even if the “proper environment” is unwilling.
The proper environment for a human baby to develop is it’s mother’s uterus and body. If the mom is unwilling, she should abstain or use birth control. I get the feeling here women resent being a woman and dislike their own children. It’s both sad and and exercise in denial at the same time. If you are intelligent and educated, prevent pregnancy. If you want to pretend you cannot have a child, don’t be surprised when you end up pregnant. It’s not a mystery process.
Or maybe women here love their children and want to be the one who decides what is best for them. Maybe the woman with placental anomalies wants to protect her already existing children from the 20% chance carrying to viability will kill her. Maybe the woman wants to protect her future children from growing up in poverty (SES is highly correlated to mom's education level). Maybe the woman wants to protect her child from a short and painful life by letting them pass peacefully in the womb. Maybe the woman's fetus has already passed and she's trying to protect her own life and the possibility of future children. Maybe the woman, knowing that another child will lead to divorce, wants to protect her existing children from growing up without a dad. The fact is the majority of Americans respect women enough to let women and their doctors make these decisions. We want abortion to be rare, so we push for science based education and easy access to long term effective birth control. The minority aren't happy with this and want to force their will on the rest of America. Removing easy access to birth control, eliminating science based education, gerrymandering districts to push through legislation, and legislating from the bench are their only ways to exert their control.
