Can ANYONE address what is wrong with the actual act of taking illegal immigrants to sanctuary cities, rather than reacting on their emotional reaction to it or Trump's motivation for it? Focus on actions and solutions instead of your feelings. Democrats, speak up about why it would be bad to do this as a matter of fact, without talking about emotion. Good Lord. I read this entire thread and it's unreal.
Ask ICE since they thought it was a bad idea.
"Matthew Albence, the acting deputy director of ICE, objected to the idea, telling the White House that there would be liability issues if a migrant were injured during transport. He also raised concerns that the agency’s budget had not been appropriated for that purpose. In an email, Mr. Albence responded that the proposal would create “an unnecessary operational burden” on the department and added that he did not know how paying extra to transport migrants to another location was “a justified expenditure.”" https://www.nytimes.com/2019/04/11/us/politics/sanctuary-cities-trump.html
So this opens up other questions. After they are released to the courts for processing, where do they go, and HOW do they get there? my guess? many to California, which has MANY "welcoming" cities From there, they can move to other "welcoming" cities in other states. Let's face it. This has been the pattern before we even knew about sanctuary cities. Where did previous immigrants go? Hello, NYC! Hi, Washington, DC! Hey, Boston! This ain't changing, folks! So if this is "punishment," then many of you have been "suffering" for generations!
You Trump supporters are such idiots. The administration is talking about loading people up and just dropping them somewhere without giving any notice to the asylum applicants or to the city, county, or any organization at the destination. That is not a professional way to do anything ever, no matter where you are dumping people. Many of the asylum applicants have family or friends or some other connections in the U.S. and that is who they would contact and where they would go if allowed to choose. Almost every city has non-profit groups that are willing to help the people with food, shelter, and actually ask them about any family or acquaintances in the U.S. But the White House is not talking about coordinating with those groups. The White House assholes are talking about dropping a few hundred people off at Nancy Pelosi's house.
