DP, fellow former congressional journalist and will add that Warren was weird and terse in evading hallway interviews. Al Franken mostly declined impromptu questions too. He was uptight and not fun to cover at all.[/quote]

I knew Warren back when she was a professor at Harvard back before there was any talk of her going into politics and she was very nice -- gave off this mom vibe, like mom who knew the bankruptcy code backward and forward!

Elena Kagan was my professor too -- she was really intimidating.  Like the smartest person I ever met.  I remember thinking that she would or should be on the Supreme Court.  I should have written that down then, to show that I predicted it.

I never thought Warren would end up in politics.  I always thought she'd just have a well-respected, distinguished but quiet career at HLS.
