Sad that DC posters see kentlands as something to bash... people move out there for a totally different experience. Have nice parks and yards, good public schools, not nearly as busy, more of a community, let your young kids walk around freely knowing they are safe, etc. It is much safer out in the suburbs, and we live in Rockville and hope to soon live in the kentlands. seems perfect for a family.
Not perfect for a family that sends its kids to public school
Confused, since all the schools are highly rated k-12... and people move to the area for the schools. Most who live around there could afford bethesda but chose the area for the community and how safe it is. Not sure why you would be commenting since I highly doubt you even live in the local area.
Why would anyone choose the Kentlands over Bethesda?!? I’m calling bs.
Have you ever lived in Bethesda? It's the worst of everything. Traffic, snobby awful people, shit shack badly built houses...most have electrical wiring that kill people... why would you live in Bethesda? P.S. If you live in a shit shack in Bethesda... call an electrician to ensure your wiring is not a death trap.
Well, at least we live INSIDE the beltway, and we have a real downtown with shops and restaurants people actually want to patronize. Let’s be real, most people would choose Bethesda over Kentlands any day of the week!
Why do you care about being inside the beltway? I've lived in the DMV for 13 years and am honestly confused by this. It seems pretty arbitrary. I do admit Kentlands downtown has its issues, but Kimco is in the middle of a huge renovation that will bring a lot more restaurants and shops. Even now, we have more than most people think. That part of the community will only get better. As for the HOA, it's not as restrictive as people are making it out to be. My neighbor painted her door yellow and no one cared. The HOA publishes all the requests it gets in the Lakelands and Kentlands newspapers and it seems 98% of them get approved. I personally think Bethesda--outside the Bethesda Row area--looks pretty rundown. The traffic is also a nightmare there. I like being able to always find a parking spot.
