Talented Stars Blue Players were placed on Orange and left the club for other opportunities.
Capital made so many mistakes this year.
Oh look, the parents of girls who didn’t make the team or didn’t make blue are back.
Nope. I’ve heard this from established capital parents and people with kids too young for capital.
Because a number of Stars Blue players were put on Orange for the first time??? Assuming that the bolded is true: (1) Established Capital parents did not and could not attend the tryouts; (2) People with children too young for Capital did not and could not attend the tryouts; (3) You did not and could not attend the tryouts;(4) I did not and could not attend the tryouts; and (5) Parents of prospective players did not and could not attend the tryouts. The only people allowed to attend the tryouts were the prospective players and the evaluators. Therefore, no one in categories 1-5 is in any position to judge the outcome since they could not possibly know every prospective player who tried out, let alone her abilities as an athlete and lacrosse player. I suspect some people are reaching conclusions based on what team or club girls played for previously or what school she attends. While the former may be one indication of a girl’s ability, it is hardly a reliable method of determining who should make Capital, let alone the Orange or Blue team. The latter is irrelevant. Capital changed their tryout and team formation policy last year to “implement measures to ensure that all players are evaluated upon their individual merits” (http://www.capitallacrosseclub.com/2017/07/19/2017-2018-tryout-information/). Capital revised it slightly before tryouts this year (http://www.capitallacrosseclub.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/348/2018/08/CLC-Tryout-and-Team-Formation-Policy-8.14.2018.pdf) and now all of a sudden this year they are "making so many mistakes?" Curious.
