I interpreted the way they all ran away from the window before the blast to mean they were all in on it. Perhaps I’m wrong. But also, June was away a long time. I’d not be surprised if they decided not to bring her into a plot given her capture and her pregnancy/stress level, plus she was largely separated from them.

Not being permitted to read/write would make the tongue punishment even more cruel, so I wonder how they handled all the plotting. I thought the way June included her at insane brunch with yes/no questions was so kind.

Am I right to think that Ofglen was wearing the bomb? Or did she just detonate something that was planted in the room? If she was wearing it, I think that suggests the handmaids could have done this themselves. [/quote]

I don't think the other handmaids were in on it, because while they noticed her break ranks, they didn't move until she turned around to the glass wall and showed them what was in her hand. If they'd known what was coming, she wouldn't have had to do that, they would have started running as soon as she entered the building.[/quote]
