The White House Correspondents Dinner was supposed to be a place where harsh partisan politics is set aside and the people that work together in media and politics let their hair down and have some good-natured fun. What they did was the opposite of that. It only denigrates one of the few traditions in DC that promotes non partisanship. Now, why would a conservative ever attend? The only time it's going to be possibly funny and not just cruel is if the governing party is liberal.
This nails it.
+1
+2 Trump gets it and didn't attend either years. Some of us already knew all of this. Liberals have gotten unbelievably nasty - threatening to cut off their parents, spouses, children if they don't vote their way. Acting like members of the other party (which includes moderate Dems/Rs) are subhuman and openly advocate for/say it's okay to treat Republicans with prejudice/hate. All with a massive, smug sense of moral superiority and delusional self conviction. Are Liberals a political group or a religion now? "Lockstep with us or we will burn you at the stake"
