BSC, Mclean, all of them. USSF don't? play that dual-club tune in the DMV. Could be worse @ Loudoun or Arlington sporting away in U13 CCL next season. Ask your DOC why USSF is not "circulating" this: https://ussoccer.app.box.com/s/mzlyw0ld7v1c0wkbojo8o7m5bfy54c69
BSC polled the membership and the overwhelming majority of members wanted to play high school, and were interested primarily in College recruiting, over national/international/professional play. Thus, the decision to stick with ECNL
That was pretty short sighted of Bethesda
I guess we will see whether Bethesda can continue to attract great players to play in the ECNL. I doubt they'll lose player #s overall. As indicated by the survey, most of the actual BSC members aren't looking beyond college and didn't want to trade the high school soccer team experience for the DA.
If I understand this correctly, the U13 girls DA pilot for our region will be different and more age-appropriate, and I use that last term loosely. Things change quickly in a year. BSC and the other clubs didn't see U13 DA happening this quickly in the Mid-Atlantic, so a year old survey from parents may not be that indicative of what a top '06 player will want to try. U13 will only have 3 practices a week instead of 4, no outside bans I believe, and relaxed subbing rules so that they can mirror what ECNL has been offering in play time. If DA can get these girls in the pipeline early, then chances are they may stay around for the more-restrictive U14 fare. A big plus is that in this region, none of the '06s will have to ride the pine on a U14 DA team next year with the '05s. This seems to be very good news for any '06 on a top team at BSC or elsewhere. Eventually the rest of the country will go to single age groups at U13 and U14.
