I hear you. My diamond is[b] 2 carat[/b] white colorless, set in a delicate airy natural yellow diamond paved setting.
I love, love, love my ring! 
But. Sometime after the engagement we went to dinner with a couple we socialize pretty closely with.
The wife looked at my ring and said [b]" if you get a halo setting your stone will look larger. Sometimes you have to get a little creative"[/b] and she smiled at me.
I am old enough to read between the lines because I've seen it all by now, but if I was younger I would feel that wonderful and important for every woman life event was painted in dirt. Especially considering the fact that my fiancé paid a lot the ring,I picked the stone and the setting, and I clearly indicated that I love my ring.
