This is WRONG and so unfair to his kids.  Three got in on their own.  The Yale soccer coach offered to accept a bribe for the fourth.  Mr. Tobin exposed it.  Mr. Tobin was not charged in the college admissions case because he did not take part in it (although he has other legal issues).  Both of my kids know his.  They are smart and were accepted on their merits.  Of course, now they have to deal with not only the shame of their dad's other actions and his ties (being the tipster) on this case, and people like you questioning their right to be at Yale.[/quote]

Although one is a criminal act, and the other is legal, I'm not seeing a lot of daylight in paying millions of dollars to pay for a building to get your under qualified kid in and paying millions to a consultant to get your under qualified kid in.[/quote]

We are talking about people w millions of dollars - $50M plus in wealth. What do they have left? Bragging rights that their spawn are quite bright.  Else if their spawn is seen as stupid, then gasp, maybe they are too and it was just luck that they got their fortune. They can buy whatever they want. And supposedly they couldn’t buy college admissions so by having their kids being admitted to top colleges, they can brag among their friends.[/quote]
