Pretti allegedly had an Sig P320 - a gun that has a horrible safety issue of letting off shots without a trigger press. It’s a known issue. I wonder if in the process of disarming him a shot from his gun went off and the panic started and shots were directed at him. Not excusing but trying to make sense.
That is exactly what happened. But the left (who knows nothing about guns) wont accept it.
Who are you to say so definitively that that is what happened? The "Left" isn't "accepting" it because it's not even the story coming from the administration. According to them, he got shot because he was a violent terrorist who was brandishing a gun and planning to attack agents. They are lying, and you are trying to give them cover by concocting an excuse that sounds reasonable. The issue with your version of things is that even if true, if doesn't justify or explain why they were beating and pistol whipping him in the first place, why they shot him in the back, and why they continued to shoot his obviously lifeless body. It doesn't explain why they tried to keep local police from containing and preserving the scene. It doesn't explain why they detained all the witnesses following the incident and tried to confiscate their phones. There is no justification for this. It is indefensible. The ONLY response that will make sense is the truth—these ICE agents abused their power, acted outside their authority, and murdered a civilian. The agents in question have been suspended pending an investigation and the department does not endorse the behavior seen on the videos. But this administration is incapable of taking responsibility. The violence is the point.
Bovino stated very clearly in the press conference today that the agents are going to be relocated out of state and back on the streets soon.
