I just don’t understand the point of posting info about zlively’s reputation slipping from a pro-Baldoni perspective. Does this poster think they’re proving something useful re the case? Seems to me like they’re showing Baldoni’s smear campaign has been somewhat effective and Liveky should ask for higher damages. But I agree with you that the lawsuit is affecting Baldoni as much if not more. Lively made and released a movie since the suit. Baldoni lost his podcast and his WME agent and doesn’t have any projects in the works afaict. He’s mostly been off in Hawaii etc vacationing with his family. PS: whoever keeps bemoaning Lively's $400M lawsuit — $400M is what **Baldoni** asked for. That’s off the table now and Baldoni’s recovery will be zero dollars since his complaint was dismissed in full.
No, I was saying if they had just left well enough alone in the fall everyone would’ve moved past this. Instead, Blake and Ryan decided to sue and here we are in a two year journey of bad headlines and being known as the actress suing for sexual harassment rather than doing more films or selling hair products. I don’t think there was retaliation. I think Baldoni was trying to protect his own reputation from all the smearing Blake was doing. But even if there was, it would’ve had an end date. He was trying to get his reputation back or he was trying to smear her, whatever, it would have ended. No one was talking about Blake and Justin by the fall. Once the promotion of the movie had died down people largely moved on. It was Blake and Ryan who posted the salacious New York Times article and lawsuit. They got everything drummed up again. And it’s hurting both of their careers. I don’t think this is good for Justin or Wayfair, but people are missing that they had so much less to lose. Blake pretty much ended her acting career and do you really think another company is going to come knocking to have her sell their beauty products? And Ryan will continue to work behind the camera, but he loves to have his face in front of a camera, and he has put a significant dent in those opportunities.
