You are looking at his way to literally. Pay to play is a complaint against the soccer system in the US compared to literally in any other country. When you are 15 more less you and you were elite (MLSN/ECNL)  you would not be paying to play soccer. Our system is a reflection on our capitalist mindset to make a dime on everything. Another way to understand what people are referring to with pay to play is the necessity to pay a trainer to develop because clubs are simply trying to stack wins to attract new customers and thus spend more time on tactics and formation team training. You must pay to literally be good enough to play on these teams in some cases[/quote]
