Watch what Lin Wood says about the blow to the head: http://www.tmz.com/2016/09/21/jonbenet-ramsey-cbs-lawsuit-documentary-burke-lawyer/ Seems there is a lot of misinformation.
This changes everything, if in fact true that the blow to the head came at the time of death. If it were true though wouldn't this be a more of a universal conclusion at this point of which came first- the head blow or the strangulation? And can one even get deep ligature marks on their body if they are already dead? Doesn't blood flow need to be occurring in order to bruised or have ligature marks on your body? Meaning JB had to be alive when she was strangled with the garrote.
Why would we believe the Ramsey's lawyer over the dozens of investigators, inluding thr fbi?
I'm not saying I am believing Ramsey's lawyer. Lou Smit came to the same conclusion and I thought he was pretty convincing. Bottom line I haven't made up my mind yet. But my question is still the same for anyone who knows- can one even get deep ligature marks on their body if they are already dead? Doesn't blood flow need to be occurring in order to bruised or have ligature marks on your body?
JonBenet was rendered brain dead by the blow. I think the pathologist Spitz said that her heart may have still been beating but her brain damage was irreversible at the tine of the blow. Maybe the ligature stopped her heart.
Ok. But then if her parents felt a heartbeat, why on earth would they strangle her? It's not like they could've done an MRI and known she was brain dead. This is the one last thing keeping me from thinking the Ramsey's did it. I can't believe if their daughter had a pulse, they would just decide to finish her off with a garrote. Surely, if image was so important, they could've just said the kids were rough-housing and Burke hit her too hard in the head and then we rushed to the hospital because she was still breathing. If one of your kids hit the other so hard to the point of being unconscious, would you think "hmmm she must be brain dead, let's go ahead and strangle her so our son doesn't look bad."
The only way I can see them staging the death like that is if they thought that their daughter was already dead.
I agree. But here's where CBS's view doesn't make sense. If Burke knocked JB out, the Ramsey's would've checked to see if JB was breathing and had a pulse before using a garrote to finish her off. If in fact she were already dead from Burke's head blow, I don't think deep ligature marks could've been made on her neck because there was no blood flow. Someone correct me if I'm wrong that a body will bruise after death?
I honestly don't know the answer. I'm guessing that if she were in a deep coma and completely unresponsive/brain dead that her breathing and heartbeat could have been hard to detect especially if the parents were in panic mode. If she had been laying there for a while maybe she was even cool to the touch. I honestly don't know. But I think that the experts suggested that it was possible that the parents thought she was dead. So I suppose it's possible that they could have thought that she was dead even if she still had a heartbeat. It's a pretty horrifying possibility.
