Some of these posters sound like they’re about 12 years old and have no concept of the evil acts Iran has committed over the decades. I suggest you educate yourselves because you just sound beyond ignorant. “The mullahs who run Iran are murderous thugs. They kill women for showing their hair. They throw people in jail for dancing. They execute homosexuals. Death to America is their official foreign policy. They want Salman Rushdie’s head on a platter. The world is a better place without them. I realize that’s crazy talk to anyone born in the 1990s or the 2000s. If you learned your foreign policy in a post-9/11 Ivy League classroom, or from some based online bugmold with a newsletter, that sounds like the reckless neocon warmongering that put us into a quagmire in Iraq. But I was born in the 1970s. I remember the shocking barbarism of the fatwa against Mr. Rushdie. I remember the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terrorism of the 1980s, the 1994 suicide attack on the Jewish community center in Buenos Aires, the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing. I remember Terry Anderson and Terry Waite. I remember that al Qaeda members, including Osama bin Laden’s son, were given sanctuary in Iran after 9/11. Any American over 50 knows who started it. The claim that Iran is the world’s No. 1 state sponsor of terrorism is more than words. It strikes deep. The Islamic Republic has waged war on the West and Western values for half a century. The Foundation for Defense of Democracies keeps a handy tally of Tehran’s long and bloody résumé. Check it out sometime.” https://www.wsj.com/opinion/free-expression/iran-started-it-b165eef9?st=L6BhkA
The first statement is rich coming from you, and you sound DUMB. Why not take your own advice and educate yourself before your failed attempt to lecture others. You were born in the 1970's and you think that is when the world began. So you don't remember the USA overthrowing a democratically elected Iranian government and the murder of millions of Iranian citizens with the support of the USA CIA. You don't remember the Iranian people in 1979 asking the US for support to get rid of the Shah and Jimmy Carter backing the Shah over the Iranian people who he had brutalized for over two-decades and when Carter said "no", the Embassy was overtaken for leverage. Before the USA had a public policy of not negotiating the American lives in the Embassy languished for nearly a year. You should also remember that the public policy was not the same as a private deal that the Reagan Administration made with the kidnappers to release the hostages right before the 1980 election. So this country does negotiate with terrorists when we want. You speak of Iran being a state sponsored terrorist, but you overlook that the USA is one of the largest state sponsored terrorist in the world. How could you not know that the USA sponsored and waged a war against Iran that lasted eight years and cost more than one-million Iranian lives. The USA gave Iraq and Saddam Hussein billions of dollars, the best weapons available from US defense companies. Donald Rumsfield gave Saddam everything short of a nuclear weapon, including biological weapons that were used against the Iranian citizens. Bottom line is the USA hands are not clean. We are responsible for millions of innocent lives across the globe. I won't even get into government overthrows and wars the USA has contributed to in the loss of lives right here in the Americas.
