This is looking more and more like a long drawn out conflict. It's bad for the stock market. It's going to be bad for the economy long term, because we're going to add more trillions to the national debt and shackle our descendants' economic wellbeing for generations to come. All these wars we've been involved in post-WWII have contributed to the USA not being as wealthy as we could have been. It was an insane decision to go to war in this manner. Trump has no concept of what's actually good for the country. He thinks the Maduro kidnapping was a success - it wasn't. The Venezuela coup was for nothing: there's still an authoritarian regime in power, and the oilfields are so damaged they will take decades to be profitable, and in the meantime, the US cannot keep bullying Venezuela into accepting highly unfair and asymmetrical shares of profit. He's making the same mistake in Iran, thinking a decapitation of the regime will lead to... what exactly? A peaceful transition to power to a more liberal government is NOT POSSIBLE. The Iraq wars tell us this much. It led to the deaths of hundreds of thousands of civilians in the region! And the end result for the US was what? Expenses in money and American lives. THIS IS INSANE.
It is even worst. He wants the Republican Guard to take over. They will turn Iran in to North Korea. They will go nuclear very quickly. I mean if you were them wouldn’t you? A nuclear weapon with a ballistic delivery system and no one will mess with Iran. The mistake Iran made was agreeing to inspections to begin with. The new regime will not do that again. The Republicans have shown they will not abide by any treaty just like Israel.
