Six hours a day, six days a week is the commitment required for most D1 programs, but the level of coaching and the talent you can recruit matters too. If it didn’t, you would not see D1 teams that are historically not very competitive. Some top D3 programs train just as much, but like the lower level D1s, they start at a different place with respect to overall team talent.[/quote]
