Okay, above PP. I am a casual Taylor fan and I love that this album is so upbeat (though I became a fan via TTPD). But I do have one Taylor nit, and that is I wish she would spekaup. She is a billionaire with nothing to lose, and she seems so insulated right now not telling Trump and the WH to eff off using her music. Like, didn't she used to be politically involved? Maybe I am wrong, but this seems like a legit critique?
We don't need more people unqualified speaking out. People should stay in their lanes.
Eff off with that. By that logic, anyone who is not a politician or in the field isn't allowed to have an opinion. Is that really your stance? Seems really undemocratic to me. I disagree with Kid Rock but he is absolutely allowed to speak and have an opinion.
DP and agree with you. I will point out that she has spoken out - she formally endorsed Harris and she criticized trump for promoting white nationalism, and she is very generous with funding to all kinds of charities and communities. That said whenever she is critical it gives air time to all the losers who don’t need more airtime. Then in the main stream starts coming clips from Newsmax and people like Jesse Waters, who would not go viral otherwise - but mentioning and criticizing Taylor Swift gets hits and if they can mention her and criticize her and causes outrage it is just giving them more airtime. I don’t know the right answer, but simply saying she should speak out more is lazy frankly. Its more complicated than that. She has a HUGE platform and she needs to be really strategic when she speaks out and if she speaks out over every outrage it’s just going to dilute and get lost in the sauce.
