But the parents are responsible for a medieval, boys-first, girls-second, system such that girl children do not always complain of abuse, and when they do, they are either not believed, or told it's no big deal, or worse - that they "provoked the boy with their female wiles", and that it's actually their fault! As has happened to many such girls in fundamentalist communities... [/quote]
