I really wish Robyn would grow self confidence. She sticks to Juan like gum stuck on the bottom of shoes. She is a beautiful woman with such low esteem trying to hold on to an ideal for her sons. But in the long run her boys will suffer more once Juan meets someone he falls in love with or just wants out without placating Robyn. I think Robyn could benefit from therapy with her mom. In Season 3, Robyn asked her mother about taking and AncestryDNA Test because she wanted to learn more about her mother’s side of the family. Robyn’s mother shut down the discussion pretty quickly. The other reason is Robyn feels “responsible” for Juan as her family took him in during his high school years, which probably means Juan came from a pretty difficult background. If Robyn continues with Juan, they could both benefit from therapy and true healing but they both have to learn to live and let go instead of this touch and go. It’s heartbreaking to see a woman devalue herself for a few crumbs of what a man chooses to give her on a daily basis.
her repeating "I said I love you" like 3x was so damn cringeworthy. to each it's own and people have to figure their own shit out, but honey is getting a terrible edit w/this juan relationship. not a good look.
I completely agree
+3 she embarrasses herself over him every single episode it seems. As direct as Gisele is I don’t see how she hasn’t come out and said “Robyn, He’s just not that into you”. While I don’t care for her personality, Robyn is a beautiful woman. If she wants companionship she could have plenty of men to choose from, there’s no reason she should be wasting her adult life on Juan. And 1st poster - Juan’s story is pretty well known to locals and those who followed UMD basketball, he did indeed have it rough growing up. Still, I think he’s beyond over Robyn and there’s no need for her to feel compelled to take care of him.
