Yes, I think it's good that they're doing this. The kids need to hear about it from someone other than their parents. with graders are 13 and 14 years old - old enough to discuss this with their parents. I don't understand some of these parents who are trying to keep this info from their kids - 8th graders want to stay with their friends but also want to understand the impact to sports, theater, art, band, orchestra, chorus, etc.[/quote]

Well it'd be nice to get the info in advance so we are not reliant on our 8th grader relaying the content, which apparently mine was not listening to. He said he got the impression they won't have everything at the school for 5 years- whatever "everything" is.[/quote]
