If this is true, the FBI will lose any shred of credibility they have... which, at this point, isn't much. And, this will give Republicans even more reason to impeach Garland.
The boxes contain documents and mementos from Trump’s presidency, reportedly including letters from Barack Obama and Kim Jong Un, and other correspondence with world leaders. A legal source said that the boxes had been packed up by the General Services Administration and shipped to Mar-a-Lago when Trump left office in January 2020. Trump’s attorneys, led by Evan Corcoran, had been cooperating fully with federal authorities on the return of the documents to the National Archives and Records Administration, according to sources.
https://nypost.com/2022/08/09/fbi-even-searched-melanias-wardrobe-in-trump-raid/
Then why didn’t he give them back when asked multiple times months ago? What is your point? No matter how you slice it this is bad news for one specific oompa loompa.
He returned boxes of documents. He probably didn't even know these items were there. Why didn't the DOJ issue a subpoena for the docs? Why a raid? The FBI is looking pretty damn bad today. As well as the DOJ in general.
It’s worth noting that it’s not customary to issue a subpoena. Anyone else in unlawful possession of national security information would have been met with a warrant promptly the next morning at 6 am. Trump received one merely as a courtesy given his former office. He still thinks he’s above the law. They did issue a subpoena in June. Keep up.
