Big news: Roe lied. She wasn’t anti-abortion. Norma McCorvey, the anonymous plaintiff in Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 U.S. Supreme Court ruling that legalized abortion throughout the United States, said she had later spoken out on behalf of the anti-abortion movement only because she was paid to do so, according to a new documentary. https://www.nytimes.com/2020/05/19/us/roe-v-wade-mccorvey-documentary.html
Why am I not surprised by this
So pro-lifers have NOTHING to say about this?
I think you mean: So anti-abortion hypocrites have NOTHING to say about this?
She did it for money. That does not mean that abortion is not abhorrent.
She didn’t think so.
Then, she never really was a champion of the pro-choice cause...if she was willing to be bought.
Sounds like she did for the same reason she wanted an abortion-- she was poor and desperate and didn't have good options. Not that hard to understand. I just watched the trailer for the documentary and am looking forward to seeing it. There is a lot about her life I didn't know. Her circumstances sound so, so sad.
If she was poor and desperate, why didn't the pro-choice movement find something for her, as a spokesperson, speaking tours, or whatever. Heck she is the poster child for the movement.
