I remember bringing a banana in the metro and an officer coming up to me and saying "please discard the banana or we will have to fine you."  Bam! Apologized, said I completely forgot (which I did) and threw it away.  You know what they said back "Have a nice day."  Done and over.

All I see here is complete disrespect and her not complying with the Metro rules or direct security/police orders.  My child would NEVER act that way towards a police officer.  If she did, I would expect this to happen, apologize to them for her wasting their time with her behavior, make her apologize directly for her behavior, and also make sure she had enough community service hours cleaning the same metro station she completely made a fool of herself in.

But for some reason, there are people in this world that believe that they don't have to comply with rules or orders and can come and go as they please. Then play victim when an officer does anything.   I am sure her mom will be just like her and turn this into a circus.  You can hear the man video taping in the background "she is just a little girl."  No, she was a straight up B with attitude, fighting with police, and cursing like a sailor.  That is not a little girl.

No but if the entire country continues to see AA's disrespect police and have people videotaping saying "she is only a little girl" after she jumped the turnstile, eating, cursing, and fighting, then you are enabling others to increase this attitude and it is becoming harder and harder for everyone (cops and civilians) to not regard race into their decisions. I'm a black female, and I'm sick and tired of our race saying, "Yeah but white people..." at every turn, as if the black community does not have some very REAL and serious issues. Unfortunately, they will not be addressed as long as we play victim and refuse to acknowledge it. The PP has a point. Her behavior does make the race look bad and it does support stereotypes. Sure teens of other races can be ridiculous assholes, but her behavior is sadly typical of what I saw as a teacher in DCPS (and the reason I left). Let's not pretend otherwise.[/quote]

1) Just because you are black does not mean your point is a ridiculous stereotype

2) what "black community" Donald Trump? Not all black people live in the same "community" We don't all live in crime infested inner cities and we are not all uneducated

3) Not all black teens are belligerent, just like not all white college boys are swimming rapists

4) DCPS students do not represent all black teens, maybe you need to get out more and meet some more black folk, most especially black teens, they don't happen to all behave the same

5) Knowing 500 black teens with similiar behaviour, does not mean you get to generalize about the millions of black teens that  don't act like that or know the ones who do act an ass

Again, your attempts at deflection will do nothing to erase the fact that there are SERIOUS issues within the AA community. Sadly, they are cultural, deeply-ingrained, and unlikely to ever change because we don't want to address them. Instead, some prefer to become defensive and point out the occasional shocking school shooting that makes headlines because it is quite rare. While black teens shoot and kill each other every single day for breakfast lunch and dinner. So much so that it's rarely ever a major news story. Instead, it's just another day of regular ol' reporting.

Go ahead, compare the number of white kids shooting up schools to the number of black kids killing each other EVERY.SINGLE.DAMN.DAY. Whether it's a drive-by shooting or stabbing over a pair of shoes, the crimes far outnumber white kids who shoot up elementary schools and blow up federal buildings. So stop the foolishness.
