Clearly you have not been to this kind of thing.  It's always the protesters who show up.  Very few people come out to advocate for something that is OK to them unless they really badly want that thing.

Find me a place in Fairfax that is not within one mile of a school or a daycare in any direction.  You can't.  This is nonsense.
