We started a new school for K this year, so I can't give you an updated answer. At the very least, my answer will bump your question back to the top so others can see it.

My daughter went to Bridges for PK3 and PK4. She had a phenomenal team. She started PK3 with probably  kindergarten level academics. She could read level D books, count to 100, etc. I worried that she'd be ignored, but her experience was incredible. Her gen ed teacher identified her social and emotional deficiencies right away and worked to build them up. Her SpEd teacher put her in a small group to help manage her behavior and teach her to regulate her emotions. Her speech therapist took a two-word phrase speaking child and cranked out a child who speaks in complete sentences. I felt like Bridges had a "whole village" mentality. Even when we decided to switch schools, everyone was supportive. The SpEd coordinator reached out to the new school and invited them to come to her final IEP meeting to make sure that the services they suggested would line up with what they had at the new school.

From day one we had a great experience. We had what I'd call a unicorn experience with the lottery. We made it off of LAMB, IT, and Two Rivers wait lists. It was tempting, but we turned them down. I can't really tell you what to do, because out of everyone from "the village" at Bridges only the speech therapist is still there. I don't know if their replacements are similar, but I want to believe that the culture of the school is still the same. [/quote]

It was a tough decision. The new building was the deciding factor. The new location would add over an hour to my morning commute. It was logistically impossible for me to get to work on time even with before care. I decided that it would be best to give her a fresh start in kindergarten at her new school rather than have her switch to a new building at Bridges, have a new teacher, and go through all of it again at a new school in 1st grade.
