Good grief, my neighborhood is FULL of dogs and every single one of them is one a leash, even during the storm. Where the hell are all of you living that you see off leash dogs all the damn time?
Old Town. Today a whole bunch of neighbors had their dogs off-leash romping in the street. We didn't go out to play because of it. My preschooler isn't keen on dogs, and the dogs were really romping around. I was afraid they might be a little stir crazy from cabin fever, as another PP mentioned, and didn't want to risk any interaction.
Old Town is like Ground Zero for the creepy entitled Dog People with their ridiculous "furbabies." I remember over a decade ago walking my <1yo baby in a stroller down there on a Saturday morning and the disgusted looks and dramatic sighs we got from people who thought my tiny Maclaren stroller was taking up too much space on their precious sidewalk, while cooing and squealing over every dog - no matter how large and butt-sniffing/jumping/space invading - that passed by. It was bizarre then, and it has only gotten worse.
You shouldn't live in old town if you don't like dogs. The whole area is very openly dog friendly, you can bring dogs in most stores on king st. No one judges you for cooing over your baby, let them coo over their dogs. And that's not equivocating the two, just saying that is not up to you top dictate what another person loves
I'm the first Old Town responder above. I have no problem with dogs walking around our neighborhood or Old Town . . . as long as they're leashed.
I should add that it's not normally a problem, but because of the snow all normalcy went out the window, so OP has a dog peeing in her yard, PP has a dog pooping on her shoveled path, and I had a makeshift dog park on my street.
