We have a cabin on oceanfront land. We do not ask people to pay cleaners ever.
But do you hire a cleaner every time someone stays there?
+1 Different poster here. We have to hire a cleaner every time someone stays there, because the house miraculously does not clean itself; and no one will clean to the specs of the next renter - unless it is a proper cleaning company. People have no effing common sense or consideration, really.
We don't rent it out. I clean it when I go or hire a cleaner.
Then it's either dirty, you don't have people stay there for a week without you often or at all, or you don't work and enjoy cleaning after other people. No way you have twice monthly friends/family that stay for a week at a time without you there and drive up there on the weekend after working a full time job and clean. I really have low tolerance for people that give these vague partial answers and pretend the situation is analogous. You started off by claiming it was a cabin, like people would know your whole backstory about the tear down cabin and you family's historical nickname for the place.
