UDC could be great for swing space! Or the Howard law school?
Howard Law???!! Not going to happen. Way too many brown folk for many in the Murch community.
Um ok? I mean it is just blocks from Murch already. Do you see people dodging that area because of the "brown folk?" Nope, theos racist Murch families choose to live right near those "brown folks." Odd isn't it? They looked at UDC (damn, more "brown folk" again!) and St. Ann's. I don't know the specifics but nether one will work. They are trying to see if they can out trailers in the park service land to use as the swing space. Park service has been less than helpful.
You're right. Those Murch families would have to accept the brown folk because Howard is technically Inbounds . OOB brown people are absolutely not acceptable to some Murch families :D (and you know I am not lying).
What are you talking about? Ever actually seen the student body? Demographics are 66% white, 12% black, 9% Asian, 8% Latino, 5% mixed race. Not a school afraid of "brown" people.
+ 1 the community is tremendous and we have many brown students as well as staff. Earlier this year Murch led the diversity initiative for all of DCPS and is in no way afraid of brown folks. Please come and visit to see for yourself.
In DC, folks talk about "diversity" like it's 1979, black or white. If you want to see real diversity in the schools, go out to Fairfax county.
That's not how Murch talks about it. We have families from 40 countries and from across the socioeconomic spectrum--families who live in mansions and families who live in small apartments. We have kids with autism, kids with Down Syndrome. We have LGBTQ families. I don't need to go to Fairfax to see diversity.
