This is one positive for a smart phone.  But there are many more negatives when a child has a smart phone:  you don't know who is contacting your child, your child could end up seeing so many inappropriate things on the net, your kid could join a social media site without you knowing, your child might start choosing to know people through social media instead of in person, etc.[/quote]

How can the bus driver release kids to you, who are not your own?

3 hours sucks. MCPS has a procedure in place to immediately dispatch a new bus, and transfer kids. Police help with traffic in the case of accident or if the bus broke down in a hazardous area (like middle of an intersection or on highway). I'd talk to the school system about that. [/quote]
