Coy Barefoot just put out a great post on the accused. He seems extremely creepy. I think they have their man. http://insidecville.com/blog/ljs-timeline/
Oh so horrible! If that was me, "Abby", I could not sleep and would be wrecked with guilt, that I didn't intervene and try to talk to Hannah, who to "Abby" was very intoxicated, could hardly stand, and left with a guy who had been rough and physical and obnoxious... oh man...
He did it -- no doubt. He sounds creepy and aggressive and sounds like he was on the prowl looking for someone all night except he had older, sober women tell him off. So here comes this 19 yr old drunk who can barely think for herself and probably thought he was "friendly" -- perfect target. The whole "gentle giant" thing was probably just how he was at work and with his family -- but in real life and with a few drinks in him, he sounds like someone who took advantage of his size to do whatever he wanted. He probably thought he could put his hands on any woman -- he's a huge guy, what are they going to do. I don't see it as Abby's fault. He came out some side door -- not her main door -- and she saw him walking away with some drunk girl; how was she to know it wasn't his girlfriend or it wasn't a typical last call scenario of a girl agreeing to go home with him. And besides I don't think an ID checker at a bar is responsible for providing security to a 19 yr old drunk. Call it victim blaming or whatever, but college girls need to think twice before they get wasted and go wandering around while half dressed. It would be nice if it was a perfect world and a line of gentlemen would rush to safely take the girl home or call her roommates or the bar would care so much about a non-patron that they'd call her a cab and wait with her until it came, but get real -- that's not the world we live in. Hope he gets what he deserves and hope college girls get a clue.
