That's a direct quote from the Quran, and considering that it is followed directly by "Truth stands clear from the error," chances are, it actually does mean "compulsion." And to be completely accurate, it doesn't mean "there is no compulsion in Islam." It means there is no compulsion in religion, la ikraha fi 'd'deen. "Deen" just means religion. It doesn't necessarily mean Islam. It's very common for someone to be asked, "ma huwa dinnak?", or "what is your religion?" It "deen" necessarily meant Islam, that couldn't have been possible.[/quote]
