Another Prek3 family happily returning to EL Haynes next year - the school has been great for us - I recommend it thus far - including the aftercare and intersessions. Remember it has a year-round schedule so that may influence some families decisions for logistical reasons. PS. We got in off the waitlist last year right around when the school year started.
Is Haynes year round for all grades?
Yes, Haynes is year round for all grades. Year round at Haynes means 180 school days that are spaced out differently than traditional public schools. This is sometimes hard for families that have students in different schools (a different PCS and Haynes or a traditional public and Haynes), but otherwise, I hear 0 complaints about that in particular. Haynes will start the second full week in August. Two weeks off in October, same Thanksgiving and winter break as everyone else and 2 weeks off for spring break. There is intersession over the summer for 4 weeks, 2 weeks in October and 1 week at spring break. So, if you work, there is a place at school for the student to go (for a cost). We've had great intersession experiences and some not so great ones. - Parent of a Rising Kindergarten (We've been at Haynes since PK3)
