Looking at the MV example, I can see how you would be confused. If you asked, "Does ranking a school #1 increase my chance of getting into that school?" the answer is yes. However, that's the wrong question. The right question is, "does the lottery process use rankings to adjust preferences?" The answer to that is no.[/quote]
