One certainty: The parents dissing others for caring about the quality of school snacks are the ones who have always fed their kids convenience foods -- chicken nuggets, sugar cereal, heat-and-eat mac and cheese -- because "that's all toddlers will eat!" Chances are their kids and they themselves are unhealthy. But they are annoyed that other people care about healthy food because it exposes the BS behind their approach.
YUP! the irony is this thread started with someone caring enough to raise it to ask what action could be done and decided to do the actions that were suggested by those who showed care at the start of the thread. Caring is usually what leads to action.
Have you brought this up to the actual school or do you really think complaining anonymously online constitutes meaningful action?
I chose one of the schools whose food choices aligned with what I was comfortable with and suggested OP speak with their admin. That’s already been covered upthread.
You realize this is not a new battle. They’ve heard it all.
I mean according to Meriwether (all the schools named use Meriwether) they rely heavily on feedback from families when choosing frequency and changes to menu offerings. Given the difference in execution and Menu offerings of the schools, I believe that to be true. Therefore, if a parent is unhappy with the current offerings at their school, it does make sense to provide feedback.
