SPSG dropping like a rock
Losing to Mcdonogh who is the clear #2 in conference isn’t a shock but you are right, they need to turn it around.
SPSG result are confusing - not necessarily result against McD, but against Glen Elg and even such a close game against RPCS. They have very good players, what's preventing them from putting it all together?
The offense. They have talent and athleticism, but no rhythm and offense iq. Heads down, bad shots, bad decisions, one-dimensional players…you know what every player is going to do and where they shoot every single time. It’s tough when you lose your field generals to graduation and no one can step up to fill the void right away.
I agree. SPSG has had great classes of offensive talent. While I hated hearing the songs after goals, they were fun to watch play. Ball movement was crisp and fluid. I watched the game yesterday and they tried to run their go to weave at the top and the transitions were slow or fumbled. But look who they lost in the last two years and what they are doing in college at the top programs. The girls they have now, while good, just aren’t on the same level as the last two classes. They may be committed to BC, Florida, and Clemson but the two that will make an impact are the two senior defenders, in my opinion.
