He was the cover story in vanity fair this month and he still came across as bland/dumb in the interview.
Then call a spade a spade. He’s dumb. He’s no Kendrick Lamar. They tried to make this be that, but it was never meant to be. Can’t wait to see him what they choose to showcase next year.
It's really weird to me that people don't realize that Bad Bunny has been like, the most popular artist by far, by FAR, for many years at this point. Nothing to do with ICE, or being "propped up" because of "DEI". Like it's been multiple multiple years that he has been epically popular. And I say this as the person who posted a few pages back about not recognizing any of his songs, because I never hear them on the radio stations I prefer, but even I, an out of the loop middle aged mom, have heard of him because he is A-list famous. It's like our parents generation claiming they have no idea who Tom Cruise or Julia Roberts are and act surprised and offended that people prefer to see them instead of a Judy Garland movie. Like.... it's ok for it not to be your thing, or to prefer your own generation's songs, but it's quite another to be 10000% culturally out of the loop
People seem to not realize that Bad bunny was in the superbowl half time show 5 years ago with Shakira and J Lo.
He’s not mainstream. They keep trying to push him as such with the recent commercials, snl and Super Bowl. But it’s not that great of music, singing, nor unique.
He’s been the number one download on Spotify for 3 of the last 5 years and won the Grammy for Album of the Year this year. You can think whatever you want but your opinions mean nothing in the face of sales and industry recognition by people who matter.
+1
No one cares about downloads unclear Spotify shareholders. Doubt bad bunny agents covered their marketing spend the last 12 mos. Check out the list next month. It’ll all be over. Maybe he can date a Jenner again, that helps too.
Who is "no one"? Are you a narcissist that thinks that your opinions about what people care about are universal to all? Since Bad Bunny's been tops for 3 of the last 5 years, you are not very good at analyzing data if you think he'll be "over" next month, but happy to return to this thread in a few weeks to prove you wrong.
It's not just Spotify (although Spotify is huge with people under the age of 50). Bad Bunny has broken ticketing records around the world, racked up 15 Top 10 hits and last week took Album of the Year at the Grammys. He was a terrific "get" for the NFL---who wanted to avoid a repeat of 2019 when they picked a long past their prime Maroon 5 to do the halftime show (or what Turning Point USA had with barely anyone tuning into a lipsyncing KidRock at their "alternative halftime show.)
What ticketing records? How much revenue? How many seats sold? How large of venues and % sold or attended?
Does DCUM exist to be your own personal Chat GPT? Is there some deficit in your intelligence preventing you from googling these things? Here's an article from a news source. You might try reading occasionally.
https://fortune.com/2026/02/08/bad-bunny-super-bowl-halftime-show-grammy-awards-taylor-swift/ How Bad Bunny went from Super Bowl supporting act to headliner with ticket sales to rival Taylor Swift’s In just 10 years, Bad Bunny, whose real name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, transformed from a SoundCloud rapper to a six-time Grammy winner, becoming the first Latin and Spanish-speaking artist to win album of the year. On his road to the Super Bowl, the artist has had a record-breaking impact on the U.S. economy. Since 2018, the artist has embarked on six concert tours. His latest tour, No Me Quiero Ir de Aquí—“I don’t want to leave here”—hosted at the José Miguel Agrelot Coliseum in San Juan (known locally as “El Choli”), generated an estimated $400 million from 31 concerts, according to Wells Fargo. Beyond ticket sales, the 600,000 attendees the residency brought in generated an estimated $733 million for Puerto Rico, according to the Associated Press. The artist’s previous concerts also netted high sums. His World’s Hottest Tour became the highest-grossing tour in a calendar year, bringing in more than $435 million across 81 shows and 1.9 million ticket sales (although Taylor Swift shattered that record the following year by nearly $600 million). Bad Bunny has also repeatedly topped Spotify’s charts as the most-streamed artist globally, most recently winning the title in 2025 with nearly 20 billion streams. This will not be the singer’s first appearance at the Super Bowl. In 2020, the Puerto Rican native performed with Shakira and Jennifer Lopez. But since then, Bad Bunny has transformed himself from a featured artist into an international phenomenon reportedly worth $100 million.
