I’m just so angry at the wasted opportunity here. The ending of the shutdown takes away the best weapon we had to get rid of Trump. If we could’ve had it go on for another couple months, we would’ve had people rioting for food, losing their homes, unable to travel, possibly martial law declaration , all of which would’ve enraged the public to the point of a general strike by the public. Trump would’ve been forced to resign. Now all that’s gone. We might never get another opportunity like this, and 8 traitorous Democrats ruined it for the country. They need to be tossed out of the party. TODAY.
You - and your posse of idiots - are absolutely grotesque. But thanks for being so transparent about what you *really* want.
What I *REALLY WANT* is that orange mfr GONE. And the shutdown was our best chance of making that happen. And now 8 turncoat DINOs have thrown it away.
How would the shutdown have made DT go? This is the new popular new political strategy, sit back and do nothing and wait for self-destruction so you can swoop in and govern? Sit out the 2024 Presidential election, sit back and close the govt, it never works.
DP If the entire country was wracked with violence in the streets, with people rioting and stealing food, everyone staying home from work (either in solidarity with gov employees or out of fear of civil unrest), republican politicians being attacked everywhere, no one able to travel, and curfews and lockdowns imposed, it’s likely that Trump would be forced to resign to restore order. It’s a solid, viable plan. Or it was anyway. Now it’s gone.
What are you smoking? And where can I get some?? The Reps are foaming at the mouth anticipating violent protests. They were annoyed that all the No Kings protests were peaceful, during the day, and attended by grandparents and young families, so they didn’t get to send out the military and armed police against the citizens. If the situation deteriorated to the point you described (curfews, politicians being attacked on the streets, no travel etc.) Trump and the admin would collectively pee their pants with excitement because that is what they want and what they need to take away our last remaining Constitutional rights and install a repressive police state. Trump is absolutely not resigning over a government shut down, even a long one lasting months, because he and the Republicans do not care and aren’t playing by any kind of established “rules” or “norms.”
