Emory games it by taking a huge percentage ED and then the whole community college thing. Just odd.
Games what? Tufts has a 42% ED acceptance rate. That includes both ED1 and 2.
who cares. two undesirable schools.
Undesirable with almost 40k in applications? Emory makes ABC nightly news with common announcements to financial aid. Only elite schools are capable of that.
it’s a back up to a backup. overall yield is an absurd 38% even with ed and oxford campus gaming of stats. Really pathetic
Oxford lowers the yeild not raises it. Emory could raise the yeild by lowering the stats if they really wanted to. Or going more TO like Vandy or NYU. They're doing the right thing in my opinion.
Has your kid applied to Emory or to Emory-Oxford? Has your kid been admitted to Emory or Emory-Oxford? Have you ever visited Emory’s Oxford campus? No one at Emory pretends that they are at a T-20 school because they know they’re not. No one pretends that Emory or Emory-Oxford was their top choice. No one pretends that Emory has all the bells and whistles that include a football team and a real college town. But the fact is, there are plenty of kids on both campuses with 1500+ SAT’s and impressive profiles. And there are plenty of people at Emory who are too busy enjoying what Emory and Emory-Oxford (and Atlanta!) offer, to spend much time looking up at the the T-20 schools or looking down upon and disparaging the T-30 to T-70 schools.
If the school is a good fit for your kid, and they enjoy it and learn there, it is a great school. These interminable debates are useless.
