Gator alums need to understand that other flagships don’t rely on online classes and actually have enough housing. A fun SEC school and taking better care of your students aren’t mutually exclusive. Do better UF!
I went to UF. No one wanted to live on campus. It was just something freshman did. I’m not sure how dorms =taking care of your students. And the big online classes were just for intro level classes like Man’s Food or Microeconomics 101. By senior year I didn’t have any classes over 25. Most were taught in conference rooms with under 10 kids instead of lecture halls.
By senior year? Is that suppose to be impressive? Class size under 50 is actually a stat that US News used in their ratings. Got rid of it for social mobility factors. In any case, Florida does poorly on this objective measure of class size comparatively.
No one is making your kid apply to UF.
This is utter BS UF No one OOS should be apply that is just financially stupid. 1. Large classes are growing like weeds at UF they don't have enough professors for all sections. Engineering seniors and Accounting seniors are taking classes with over 150 kids and on video. The video thing I took Econ 101 with Dr Denslow in the 1980's 8 sections of video class one with him personally in a 300 person autoturium this has not changed since then except Denslow is gone. 2. No company out of state is hiring from UF moving forward. You have to be a complete idiot to pay OOS tuition to UF.Now if you want your kid living under king Desantis the criminal rules more power to you but your kid is not getting a good education any longer. No worries, no interest. Anywhere with online classes is a non starter in our home.

Ha, I had Denslow in the '80s. Loved the class. Gainesville and UF itself remain blue even with DeSantis's Stormtroopers marching around. To be educated is to be liberal. So I have hope for the long term at UF.
This is an idiotic statement.
