The 101 figure is off by 1. There were 100 murders as of August 11, 2025, the day before the guard was deployed:

If any other Administration put troops in the street - for any reason, let alone "street crime" - right wing voters and media personalities would absolutely freak out about government takeover. It's astonishing how weak-willed and gullible those same people are when Trump so blatantly drags us towards authoritarianism. You are not standing up for the Constitution, Republicanism, limited government - on the contrary, you're dragging it down with Trump.
