The idea that Iron dome can shoot down Iranian hypersonic missiles but not Palestinian rockets and men on paragliders is comedic. You can get from the West Bank to Gaza in 15-45 mins by helicopter. Israel’s a very tiny country. There’s no reason the military couldn’t have stopped it unless they were specifically given top orders not to
They were given orders to relocate from Gaza to the West Bank, because Netanyahu is an idiot and thought he had neutralized Hamas and wanted to support his immoral project to back up illegal settlements in the West Bank. No one wanted October 7 to happen, they just utterly failed to prevent it because they are grotesquely incompetent idiots.
The evidence doesn't support your arguments. Intelligence much more suggest that threats from Hamas were intentionally ignored or silenced from those in Israeli intelligence and people out in the field near the border wall. Having just now seen how bloodthirsty Netanyahu is, you should not be surprised at what he is willing to do in order to achieve the greater goals for Israel.
Yes, it was ignored because it posed a conflict with orders to shift resources to the West Bank and because the authorities put too much faith in the wall and the technology along the Gaza border. How could Netanyahu have assumed everything after a Hamas attack would go as well for Israel militarily as it has? The military was terrified of a ground war in Gaza becoming a quagmire. Hezbollah appeared much, much more resilient than they turned out to be. Syria was actively hostile to Israel. What would the strategic purpose of allowing hundreds of Israelis to be murdered be if you didn’t have the benefit of knowing everything that followed, exactly? Why must Netanyahu be an evil genius instead of an evil moron?
