This aspect is definitely annoying, especially when your child is good but not part of the “clique.” It really irritates me that the cliques have oversight over how heats and lanes are organized for Time Trials and B meets. “Team representatives agree on the seeding method (e.g., by time, friend groups, random) and communicate it to the Clerk of Course.” I believe NVSL should have more clearly defined rules regarding this procedure. I’m all for having a time-efficient B meet or Time Trials, but when your child’s time is fastest in their age group and, for some reason, the powers that be place the slower kids in the faster lane, it’s frustrating. the powers to be put the slower kids in the faster lane.. I don't disagree, but Time Trials and B Meets are not considered NVSL meets and are not subject to league policies.  B Meet League rules and individual team handbooks should follow traditional lane seeding.  Sometimes heats are collapsed for efficiency, but if a faster kid is seeded into an outside lane with a slower kid in the middle, I'd inquire.  [/quote]
